July 10-25, 2013
Students and teacher chaperones pose at the July orientation program for the China Bridge Summer Camp.
700 students from around the U.S. are selected to participate in the 10-day program promoting exchange between the youth of China and the U.S., and enhancing the U.S. high school students’ appreciation for—and interest in --Chinese language and culture. Sponsored by Hanban (The Office of Chinese Language Council International), and facilitated by Confucius Institutes throughout the U.S., this is the 7th consecutive year of cross-cultural exchange and education. UCLA’s Confucius Institute has been involved since 2008 and organized a group of 17 students and 2 chaperones to participate this year. Eager to go, this group will be in China from July 10-25, and will spend time in both Beijing and Yunnan.
