Pasadena City College will offer the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) for 2017 on May 20, 2017. Those wishing to take the test must register by April 14, 2017. HSK is the national standardized test of Chinese as a foreign language that is recognized internationally by the People’s Republic of China and other countries. It is designed by experts at HSK headquarters in Beijing, China. The HSK measures the proficiency level of non-native speakers of standard Chinese. A non-native speaker includes foreigners, overseas Chinese, and students from Chinese national minorities. HSK is used as a guideline for admission to universities in China and Southeast Asia and is a reference standard used in job recruitment by China and other countries where Chinese language skills are necessary.
This test is only offered a limited number of times a year, and Pasadena City College is the only licensed testing center in the Los Angeles area. For more information on the HSK and this year's testing dates, please visit PCC's website.
