Sanghong Jane Lintakoon (林上虹）holds a bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in International Relations from Peking University, where she also completed pre-doctoral research at the School of International Studies. With over a decade of in-country experience in China, Sanghong has worked in both the academic and non-profit sectors with a focus on advancing educational and cultural initiatives.
Previously, she was the Executive Director of the Chia-Siou Educational Foundation, a small international non-profit focused on increasing U.S.-China dialogue, educational opportunities and cross-cultural understanding. Sanghong co-founded the organization and worked with Chinese educators to establish partnerships with schools across China, which led to an expansion of summer cultural exchange programs and scholarships for rural Chinese students.
As Assistant Director at the Confucius Institute at UCLA, Sanghong works on UCLA CI's innovative programs to capitalize on the unique offerings of Los Angeles -- whether it be advancing arts & cultural education through films or fostering connections within the diverse population of LA.
